Through the power of virtual reality, witness the extreme work of a de-mining team as they clear the land in Laos, the most heavily bombed country in the world.

Over 9 years, 270 million bombs were dropped on Laos and up to a third of those are still yet to explode. For 20 years, UXO Lao have been clearing bombs and educating communities to make Laos safer for its people.

“Bringing the day-to-day work of a UXO Lao field team into homes around the globe is an evocative way of raising awareness and funds for such an important issue.”

Kaarina Immonen. United Nations Resident Coordinator, Lao PDR

To raise global awareness on the continued terror of these unexploded bombs, UNDP and Chorus have produced the first ever virtual reality film for Laos. The film follows Saysamone and her clearance team as they remove unexploded bombs from a village in north-east Laos.

The film has been exhibited to donors and stakeholders to advocate for further support in the UXO sector, and has been shared globally to raise awareness.
